Coralie Laverdet

My great passion for the sensitive, poetic language of nature leads me on a journey to the heart of the material.

Immersing myself in the depths of my research by changing scale, from micro to macro, from moderation to excess, my work explores the notion of time, the impermanence of things, the strength and fragility of living beings, their silences and noises, their breathing.

It’s a mix of fibres and connections, subtle weaving and blending.

I look for the essential in wood fibre to paper fibre, even extracting the plant fibre, and enjoy a close relationship with the material, which is transformed and changed.

Multiple, repeated movements generate decorative effects, vibrations, rhythms and silences, slowness, until a kind of breath is formed.

Soaked by the close relationship between work and place, my creations exist and come to life in architectural spaces and lead us to a different perception of the material, in suspended time and space.
