My work reflects my fascination for nature. My “savoir-verre” creates a link between the past and the future, between tradition and modernity, between nature and urban life. Yesterday’s techniques create today’s art. I use these techniques to produce extranatural works, a plant world made of glass, bright and immortal.
My work is based on the accumulation of simple elements, none of which has anything remarkable about it. It is their number and how they are arranged that create an extraordinary, original composition reminiscent of the spirit of minimalist music.
Combined with all kinds of natural resources – vegetable, mineral and animal (wood, seeds, mushrooms, paper, textiles and threads, metal, terracotta, skins, bones, feathers, etc.) – the glass reveals a hidden dimension, expressing the emotion of my world. The different materials, marked by their past, come together and complement each other. Sewing is omnipresent in all my sculptures, it’s what joins the materials together, the link between all these worlds; a flexible, fluid link that cannot be broken.
Glass is at the very heart of my work, vibrating inside, its soul.
